This month we will hear from Sarah Mohammad-Qureshi, Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at The University of Law.

Sarah Mohammad-Qureshi

Sarah started her career in scientific research. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry and spent many years as a laboratory-based academic researcher, investigating the cause of a childhood brain disease Leukoencephalopathy with Vanishing White Matter.

Her personal journey and involvement in progressing gender equality across STEMM (Science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine) led into a career supporting equity and inclusion in higher education. Her experience is featured in the book ‘ResearcHER: The Power and Potential of Research Careers for Women’.

Sarah provides an advisory role to the higher education sector, as Race Equality Charter Associate for Advance HE, Sarah is also Trustee for two equality-focussed charities; 'Pave the Way' and the Greater Manchester equality-based charity ‘GM4Women2028’, and a local school governor. Outside of work, Sarah is mum to 3 children and a keen martial artist.
